Welcome to Gwaenynog Farmhouse B & B

...a place to relax, unwind and escape

Chosen as one of the Best 50 B&B's in the UK

by The Independent newspaper, March 2011

We would like to welcome you to our home... where we have spent many hours lovingly refurbishing our house to welcome you as a guest.

Front of houseGwaenynog is a beautiful B&B in a quiet and scenic location, about a mile from the River Vyrnwy. The stunning views and wildlife of Lake Vyrnwy are also just 9 miles away. We are at approx 600 feet above sea level, so have some amazing views, including the imposing presence of Moel Bentyrch.

We're fully licensed to provide a selection of wine, beer & spirits for your enjoyment. Click here for more information.

You will be assured of a warm welcome at our high quality B&B. There are extremely comfortable beds, powerful showers, sumptuous towels, fragrant shower gels and shampoos. There's a choice of teas and coffee in all the rooms with fresh milk, flat screen TV’s with Freeview & DVD players, and if you must, Free WIFI; With varying views from every window, each bedroom has its own distinctive character.

So why not visit Mid Wales - and stay at Gwaenynog Farmhouse, a high quality B&B. We look forward to welcoming you to our home, on what we hope will become a regular basis.

Fiona & Norman, and of course, Bonnie & Beau the dogs!

We were featured on the front page of the Lifestyle section of the Shropshire Star, so if you missed it, the article is here.

A little bit about the place

Originally part of a much larger working farm, Gwaenynog now has 16 acres of land with sheep grazing happily, although not our own just yet... Look out for the lambs during March- May!

We are able to accommodate dogs, in our kennels, which are spacious and include wooden huts, with crash mats and large cushions for hem to feel comfortable. See our kennels page for more info.

With lovely gardens surrounding the house, plus fields and woodland beyond, we are situated in a secluded and peaceful area but near to many wonderful sights.

Some of the birds we have recently seen/heard visiting Gwaenynog are: Heron, Peregrine, Buzzards, Tawny Owl, Willow Warbler, Sparrow, Wren, Dunnock, Coal Tit, Blue Tit, Great Tit, Greater Spotted Woodpecker, Nuthatch, Redstart, Wheatear, House Martin, Chaffinch, Goldfinch, Pied Wagtail, Mallard, Marsh Tit, Reed Bunting, Spotted Flycatcher, Stock Dove, Brambling, Wood Pigeon, Carrion Crow, Magpie, Raven, Garden Warbler, ChiffChaff, Treecreeper, Long-tailed Tit, Starling, Siskin, Blackcap, Songthrush, Bullfinch, Lapwing, Mistle Thrush, Swallow and Curlews. These are what we have seen/heard personally - or been advised of by our birding guests, but we're sure there are even more that we have just not spotted yet. With the spring weather on its way, there's no better way to wind down...

Why not come and explore for yourself?
