A La Carte Main Course:

Sea Bass with Mustard & Dill

Sea Bass OR Salmon Fillet, served with your choice of Sauce *

Fillets of Sea Bass or Salmon fillet with a homemade Parsley* or Mustard & Dill sauce*, served with either New or Mashed potatoes*, and freshly prepared seasonal vegetables

Pork steaks with Apple & Cider Gravy

Locally reared pork chops or steaks, with either New, Dauphinoise* or Mashed* potatoes and freshly prepared seasonal vegetables and served with a home-made apple and cider gravy

Sirloin OR Rib-eye Steak + £3.50 (Add a sauce for £1, either Mushroom or Peppercorn)

Locally reared steak, cooked to your taste, served with either Chips, Dauphinoise*, or New potatoes and freshly prepared seasonal veg

Homemade Mushroom Risotto (v)

Porcini and mushroom risotto made with Arborio rice, cream*, garlic & White Wine, and served with parmesan shavings & sautéed mushrooms

Homemade Medium Curry

Made with locally produced chicken or lamb, cooked with onions, garlic, ginger, peppers, chillies and tomatoes, served with Naan bread and chutney (we can increase or reduce the heat, according to your taste – just ask)

Chicken with Creamy Tarragon sauce *

Whole chicken breast, cooked in a sumptuous homemade creamy tarragon sauce*, served with either New or Mashed potatoes and freshly prepared seasonal vegetables

 

Local Welsh lamb Steaks with mint sauce GF

The most popular choice at our B&B: Grilled local Welsh lamb leg steak, served with Chips, New or Dauphinoise* potatoes, freshly prepared seasonal vegetables, accompanied by homemade gravy & mint sauce

Homemade Cottage Pie *

Homemade pie cooked with creamy Mashed potatoes* using locally reared minced beef, and served with freshly prepared seasonal vegetables & a homemade gravy

Homemade Fish Pie *

Homemade fish pie, made with smoked haddock, salmon and prawns* made with creamy Mashed potatoes*, and served with freshly prepared seasonal vegetables

Gwaenynog Bolognese or Lasagne *

Individual filo bundle with creamy Brie*, mushroom, rocket & redcurrant filling – served with New potatoes and freshly prepared seasonal vegetables.

Traditional Roast Dinner: Served only on Friday, Saturday or Sunday

You can choose from anywhere on the menu at weekends, but we only offer roasts on Friday, Saturday or Sunday

Wonderful and traditional British roast dinners: Made with locally sourced Roast Beef, Lamb, Chicken or Pork – served with roast potatoes and freshly prepared seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding & homemade gravy – plus horseradish, mint, redcurrant or apple sauces.

Three layered chocolate sponge filled with dairy cream & cherry filling, topped with cream rosettes & glace cherries, decorated with chocolate curls

Vanilla baked cheesecake (with fresh berries) * (v)

Thick and creamy, yet light, vanilla cheesecake, served with mixed berries (depending on the season) – usually best served with cream

Lemon Meringue Pie (v)

Lemon flavoured filling in a pastry case, topped with meringue

Homemade Sherry Trifle ($) *

Traditional sherry trifle made with sponge cake, jelly, sherry, custard and whipped cream – served in individual dishes (we need at least 24 hours notice for this, as we prepare in advance)

Classic lemon tarte, with short crust pastry, served with a few raspberries

Homemade Apple Crumble/Pie ($) (v)

Made with Apples picked at Gwaenynog in a homemade crumble or pastry case

All served with either cream, ice cream, or perhaps custard

Classic Brussels pate served with an onion marmalade or chutney, with crusty bread and butter

Prawn Cocktail * GF

The traditional classic, with king prawns, iceberg lettuce and Marie Rose sauce, with bread and butter*

Warm salad of scallops & bacon, with Maple sauce GF

A delicious combination of sweet scallops and dry-cured bacon/pancetta, cooked with Maple syrup and served with green leaves dressed with a dressing of maple syrup, olive oil, Dijon mustard* & lemon juice
