Gwaenynog is a beautiful stone farmhouse with a B&B and Campsite in a peaceful area, ideally located for visiting Mid Wales. (Pronounced Gwen-uh-nog.)

Nestled between the Berwyn and Cambrian Mountains in Mid Wales, we’re only a mile from the River Vyrnwy, 9 miles from the enchanting and romantic Lake Vyrnwy and just 12 miles from Welshpool, we’re surrounded by some of the most wonderful, scenic areas which are relatively untouched, and seldom visited.

We offer a menu of farmhouse evening meals, and have an onsite licensed bar offering wine, beer and spirits – so you can enjoy a glass or two.

There are plenty of things to do in the area, in particular Powis Castle and Lake Vyrnwy – but also the Welshpool to Llanfair Caereinion Light Railway – a lovely steam train trip taking you through the Mid Wales countryside. Plenty to keep you occupied for a few days. Also, we’re only an hour from Chester, an hour from the coast at either Aberdyfi or Barmouth and 1½hours from the North Wales coast.

Definitely a place to relax, unwind and escape… you can really hear the quiet.
