Blog
A new update – finally
So, to follow on from our last blog, Countryfile filmed the tallest tree sculpture last year – and has proved popular with guests and visitors – its shaped like a giant hand. Well worth a visit to the Giants of Vyrnwy Trail at Lake Vyrnwy, sculpted by Simon O’Rourke from Rhosddu, Wrexham, who had the vision to convert the remains of the felled tree. For safety reasons it had to be cut after a storm in Feb 2011.
We’ve had a busy 2012 too – we now have our campsite open, see here: gwaenynogcamping.webs.com/ for more information and directions on how to reach us. We’re very pleased to have it open this year and we’ve already had our first few campers (see picture). As part of the Camping and Caravanning Club, we’re pleased to have been approved as one of their CS sites in the area.
Probably the most exciting for us this year was our unexpected visitors – we have had 2 Sparrowhawks, the male was taken by one of our guests (a photographer, so a brilliant picture) and the other by me (a bit blurred through the kitchen window)- but I didn’t know what it was at first!
So, who knows what the rest of 2012 will bring, but I promise to be more diligent in updating.
Hope to see you at Gwaenynog soon.
