These meals are normally served “restaurant style” in the Farmhouse dining room (subject to availability).

A la Carte Two course dinner @ £19.50 per Adult

Choose from either a starter or dessert, plus a main – or add a 3rd course for £5.50

NB: We require at least 24 hours’ notice, because everything we cook is bought and prepared specifically for you. Some things we can offer easily, and at short notice, but most we buy and prepare in advance of your arrival. Please just ask… This is the price for a 2-course menu.

A La Carte Main Course:

Sea Bass OR Salmon Fillet, served with your choice of Sauce *

Fillets of Sea Bass or Salmon fillet with a homemade Parsley* or Mustard & Dill sauce*, served with either New or Mashed potatoes*, and freshly prepared seasonal vegetables

Pork steaks with Apple & Cider Gravy GF

Locally reared pork chops or steaks, with either New, Dauphinoise* or Mashed* potatoes and freshly prepared seasonal vegetables and served with a home-made apple and cider gravy

Sirloin +£3 OR Rib-eye Steak + £4 (Add a sauce for £1.75, either Mushroom or Peppercorn) GF

Locally reared steak, cooked to your taste, served with either Chips, Dauphinoise*, or New potatoes and freshly prepared seasonal veg / salad

Homemade Mushroom Risotto (v) GF

Porcini and mushroom risotto made with Arborio rice, cream*, garlic & White Wine, and served with Parmesan shavings & sautéed mushrooms

Homemade King Prawn & Chorizo Risotto GF

Made with Chorizo and King prawns, made with Arborio rice, garlic, white wine and peas – served with grated Parmesan.

Homemade Curry: Lamb/Veggie Korai (medium) or Chicken/Veggie Korma (mild)

Made with locally produced chicken/lamb, or a Veggie option of cauliflower & mushroom, served with Naan bread and chutney (we can increase or reduce the heat, according to your taste – just ask)

Chicken with Creamy Tarragon sauce *

Whole chicken breast, cooked in a sumptuous homemade creamy tarragon sauce*, served with either New or Mashed potatoes and freshly prepared seasonal vegetables

Local Welsh lamb Steaks with mint sauce GF 

The most popular choice at our B&B: Grilled local Welsh lamb leg steak, served with Chips, New or Dauphinoise* potatoes, freshly prepared seasonal vegetables, accompanied by homemade gravy & mint sauce

PieMinister Pies 

Great tasting gourmet pies served with either baked potato/mash, plus freshly prepared seasonal vegetables, and gravy (inc GF/Vg).

Flavours are: Moo Pie – A British beef steak & craft ale pie; Wild Shroom – A Portobello & chestnut mushroom pie with asparagus & white wine (V); Mock-a-Doodle – A tofu ‘chicken’ pie with leek, smoked garlic & white wine (Vg); Heidi – A goats’ cheese, sweet potato & spinach pie (V); Moo & Blue – A British beef steak & stilton pie; Mooless Moo – A jackfruit ‘steak’, craft ale and black pepper pie. (All subject to availability and must be ordered in advance.)

Gwaenynog Bolognese or Lasagne *

  • Homemade beef Bolognese served with spaghetti* either wholemeal or standard – served with garlic bread
  • Homemade lasagne made with locally reared minced beef, peppers, carrots, onions, tomatoes, and served with freshly prepared seasonal vegetables, OR a green salad with garlic bread
  • Homemade vegetable lasagne, usually made with peppers, carrots, courgettes, aubergine & tomatoes and/or Quorn, served with freshly prepared seasonal vegetables OR a green salad with garlic bread (v)

Traditional Roast Dinner: Served only on Friday, Saturday or Sunday

£13.50 for a single course, + starter or dessert for £5.50

You can choose from anywhere on the menu at weekends, but we only offer roasts on Friday, Saturday or Sunday. Please note, we would not do a roast for just one person.

Wonderful and traditional British roast dinners: Made with locally sourced Roast Beef, Lamb, Chicken or Pork – served with roast potatoes and freshly prepared seasonal vegetables, Yorkshire pudding & homemade gravy – plus sauces.

A rich chocolate cake, served warm – or cold with a few raspberries *

Vanilla cheesecake (with fresh berries) * (v)

Thick and creamy, yet light, vanilla cheesecake, served with mixed berries (depending on the season)

Lemon Tarte * (v)

Classic lemon tarte, with short crust pastry, served with a few raspberries

Homemade Apple Crumble (v)

Usually made with Apples picked at Gwaenynog in a homemade crumble

All served with either cream, ice cream, or perhaps custard

Black Pudding with Goats Cheese *

Warm Black pudding, with goats cheese and a sweet chilli sauce as a dressing, served with mixed salad leaves.

Prawns with Chilli dip

King prawns in a light tempura batter, served with a sweet chilli dip and salad leaves.

Tomato & Basil Soup

Tomato and basil soup, served with crusty bread and butter

Prawn Cocktail * GF

The traditional classic, with king prawns, iceberg lettuce and Marie Rose sauce, with bread and butter*

Warm salad of scallops & bacon, with Maple Syrup + £2 GF

A delicious combination of sweet scallops and dry-cured bacon/pancetta, cooked with Maple syrup and served with green leaves dressed with a dressing of maple syrup, olive oil, Dijon mustard* & lemon juice
