We would like to welcome you to our home… where we have spent many hours lovingly refurbishing the house to welcome you as a guest.
We spent 12 months clocking up thousands of miles hunting for a dream farmhouse in Mid Wales before finding Gwaenynog, at Dolanog, near Welshpool, quite by accident in 2009.
We’d made an appointment to view another neighbouring farmhouse but fate led us to Gwaenynog, which was up for sale with the same estate agent. The owner invited us in and we immediately fell in love.
Now, the attractive stone farmhouse has been sympathetically modernised and converted into quality bed and breakfast accommodation, which has consistently won a four star grading from Visit Wales and also Silver from the Green Tourism Business Scheme (GTBS).
Originally part of a much larger working farm, Gwaenynog now has 16 acres of pastureland, wetland and woodland that host a wide variety of birds, and other wildlife. The farmhouse offers visitors a chance to enjoy peace and tranquillity in the countryside, with gardens surrounding the house, and fields and woodland beyond, we are situated in a secluded and peaceful area but near to a lot of wonderful sights.
You will be assured of a warm welcome at our quality bed and breakfast. There are extremely comfortable beds, powerful showers, generous towels, fragrant shower gels and shampoos, a choice of teas and coffee in all the rooms with fresh milk, flat screen TV’s with Freeview & DVD players, and if you must, free wifi; all with varying views from every window..
After a relaxed night’s sleep, rise for a leisurely cooked breakfast of locally produced ingredients or perhaps something lighter. Our breakfasts are plentiful and varied, including for vegetarians & vegans – and all made from the best local produce we can find.
Fortified, you can decide where to go, as we are centrally located for visiting lots of wonderful locations.
We look forward to welcoming you to our home, on what we hope will become a regular basis.
Fiona & Norman, and of course, Beau the dog!
