Terms & Conditions
Thank you for choosing to book with Gwaenynog Farmhouse B&B. We’re really looking forward to welcoming you. When you make this booking you are entering into an agreement with us. Please read our terms and conditions of booking below.
Our price includes your accommodation on a bed and breakfast basis, so including breakfast. Extras, including telephone calls, drinks, meals or packed lunches etc are charged as consumed. We accept the following forms of payment: cash or debit/credit card – we do not accept Diners or American Express.
A deposit of one night stay is required to guarantee a booking. Fourteen days’ notice of cancellation is required for a refund, minus a £5 administration fee, per room. If cancellation occurs within 14 days of arrival the deposit will not be refunded. For bookings of more than 3 nights, we will require 50% of the total cost on booking as deposit.
Well behaved pets are permitted by prior arrangement only, which means, one well-behaved dog is usually permitted (at a standard extra cost) but must be checked with us prior to booking. Dogs are only allowed in the Owl bedroom.
Cancellation and Insurance:
Once you have booked your stay, our agreement is a legal contract and any deposit you may have paid is non-refundable. If you need to cancel please contact us immediately. We will do everything we can to re-let the accommodation because if we are successful we will make no further charge and we will refund the deposit already paid – less £5 administration per room. If we are not able to re-let, the charge for the first night of your stay is payable. Failing to take up your booking without cancelling renders you liable for the total amount of your stay.
If you are concerned about a cancellation, you may wish to take out insurance, which is inexpensive and can be obtained from any good broker. For Christmas Break reservations, the cancellation period is thirty days.
Due of the temperamental nature of this country’s climate, we cannot accept ‘poor weather’ as a reason for cancellation, except, of course, if conditions prohibit travel.
In the event that you need to change your plans, please let us know by telephone as soon as possible, so that we can make the room(s) available. Notification by email may not be retrieved immediately or may go astray, and so is not accepted.
Should you wish to change or alter your booking in any way, we reserve the right to cancel the booking completely or offer an alternative date at our discretion. For example, if you wish to reduce a 2-night booking to a one night stay on a weekend, we may offer to charge 50% of the second night or cancel the whole booking. This is to enable us to re-let the room.
We would only ever cancel your booking if your accommodation was unavailable for reasons beyond our control. We would always attempt to offer you alternative accommodation, however, if this was not possible, or unacceptable to you, then we would refund ALL monies paid by you. Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
Your accommodation will be available between 16.00 (4pm) and 18.00 (6pm) on the day of your arrival. If you plan to arrive earlier or later than this, please let us know so we can plan our day/evening. Please advise if you expect to arrive after 2100 (9pm).
Out checkout time is 11.00am on the day of your departure, and the balance of your account becomes due for payment on departure unless otherwise agreed.
We’re glad to say that we are licensed and able to serve beer, wine and spirits in the lounge with or without a meal. We hope you will take advantage of this facility and our drinks list is available online or in the guest lounge. You are of course welcome to bring your own drinks to consume within your room, the lounge and in the garden – we even provide glasses for you to do this. However, if you choose to drink your own when eating a meal with us, there will be a corkage charge.
Damages and Breakages:
Please take care of our accommodation. You are responsible and liable for any breakages or damage which you cause to the accommodation or its contents. Please report these as soon as they occur. We do not normally charge for minor breakages, but we may send you an invoice for repair or making good if the damage or breakage is significant, or we have not been advised.
NB: Gwaenynog is also our home and any items either on display or being used in the running of our business, belong to us. Anything which is removed without prior agreement will be charged.
We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions unless proven to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves or our employees or contractors whilst acting in the course of employment.
Any data gathered during the course of this booking may be held on computer, but is definitely held in written form. With your permission, we will add you to our mailing list for our newsletter, which is sent out via email, detailing things that are happening and any special offers. Please advise if you would rather be removed from this list.
